GM, What Were They Thinking?

This month's news from General Motors would normally merit a "meet irony" post, but when a company announces that it will reduce its workforce by 25,000 workers over the next three years right after it has offered the employee discount to anyone who walks in the door for the next month, it's tragedy not irony.

More about GM and its financial troubles after I can pick my jaw up off the floor.

That's what happens when a health care administrator facing a cash flow shortfall finds it somehow got stuck with a bunch of cars to unload.

I think it's obvious that they're thinking they're not your father's Generous Motors. To survive they have to become more efficient.

But first, they have to unload inventory.

You may the only one who has accused GM of being capable of "thinking"...

but at least they are capable of belated "problem recognition"...
